 RMU Core Communication Skills Courses
(12 credits)

Patriot Scholars take all their core communication skills courses together in honors sections.

  • COSK 1221, Argument and Research
  • COSK 2220, Public Speaking and Persuasion
  • COSK 2221, Intercultural Communications
  • COSK 2230, Business and Professional Communication

General Education Credits
(6 credits)

Students will choose at least 2 of the following honors sections of core courses to fulfill this requirement.  This list may change as honors sections of other courses are developed.

  • HIST 1100, US History I
  • HUMA 1010, Humanities: Arts and Music
  • GEOL 1090, Stars, Planets and the Cosmos
  • POLS 1020, American National Government
  • STAT 2110, Statistics
  • SOCI 2320, Contemporary American Social Problems

 Honors Seminar
(3 credits)

Students will complete an honors seminar course with a "B" or better.  Additionally, selected study abroad experiences may fulfill this requirement.

 Honors Thesis
(6 credits)

  • HNRS 4900 Research Methodology
  • HNRS 4911 Honors Thesis Research supervised by a faculty thesis advisor.
  • HNRS 4912 Honors Thesis Completion and Presentation supervised by a faculty thesis advisor.  All Honors Theses will be presented at the Undergraduate Research Conference.
