Scott Umberger

Scott's passion for performance enhancement started at an early age stemmed by his desire to receive a Division I scholarship. During his senior year at Plum High School, Scott was taken under the wing of college track coach Waddie Freeman. Through training, Scott was able to reduce his 40 yard dash time from 4.6 to 4.4 and ran a 6.69 (FAT) 55 meter dash at the Pennsylvania Indoor Track State Championships.

Scott played football and ran track at Robert Morris University. At the end of his college career he spent a year interning at the University of Pittsburgh under renowned coaches Buddy Morris, Tim Beltz, and Joe Collins; while he trained athletes as a hobby. The love for making a difference in young athletes' lives took over when he decided to pursue a full time career in performance enhancement.

He spent three months training and studying at the Westside Barbell (Columbus, OH), which is the strongest gym in the world. During Scott's final six weeks at Westside he added 125 lbs to his box squart (525 lbs), added 3 inches to his vertical jump (37 inches). This was accomplished drug free and by only training at Westside.

Having trained former 2001 first round draft and Philadelphia Flyer RJ Umberger most of his life, RJ asked that Scott spend the summer of 2007 training him in New Jersey. These tremendous results are being seen on the ice with RJ playing on the first and second lines of the Flyers. RJ squatted 650 lbs, benched 350 lbs, and jumped onto a 55 inch box before going to training camp. While at camp he had the highest vertical jump (38 inches), the most pull ups (27), and the second most dips (23) at 6'2" 212 pounds.

Scott is currently the assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at Robert Morris University and is head of performance enhancement at the Robert Morris University Island Sports Center on Neville Island.

His resume includes: high school, college (athletes from 20 different NCAA schools), and professional athletes (MLB, NHL, NFL, NBA, World Championship Games, and Arena Football), a Biletnikoff Trophy Winner (top DI Football Receiver), a top 3 Hobe Baker Finalist, 4 All-American (track, swimming, hockey, soccer). FINA Master World Championship Qualifying Swimmer, current Olympic Hopeful Javelin Thrower, ECAC qualifying track hurdler.

Scott has worked with male and female athletes in hockey, football, basketball, softball, baseball, swimming, tennis, lacrosse, soccer, track, fitness/ figure competitors, and average Joe's looking to lose weight and get in shape. With his 16 years of training experience from the gym and track he offers a unique blend of speed, strength, and explosive power training knowledge to make a significant difference in athletes at all levels.
