"The greatest hockey drills ever to be drawn by man along with the even the most fail safe plays imaginable are all worthless, unless your players have the skills required to execute them".....author unknown
That quote is the insperation behind The RMU HOCKEY ACADEMY'S Survival Skills and Small Area Games program. We believe that in order to be a great player, you must first be a good player. That means that you must master no fewer than 5 major skills to be a succesfull hockey player, (skating, shooting, passing, stick handling, & team skills). To often these essential skills are overlooked during the course of the season and players tend to develop bad habits when preforming them.
Survival Skills is your opportunity to break that rut and get back to the fundamental skills of the game, skills that when executed at 100 % proficiency, will make you stand out from those around you.
Each player will recieve (5) 80-minute ice sessions consisting of 30 minutes power skating instruction with Marianne Watkins, 30 minutes of skill development with Blaine Buterbaugh along with various RMU college hockey coaches and players; and 20 minutes of small area games.
Spots are limited to 36 skaters and 6 goalies per group. * Please register for the level your child will skate at for the 2011-12 Hockey Season*
