Confidentiality
Your health record is a private matter between you and your health care provider. Information can only be released with your written permission.
Health Forms
All residents are required to have a completed health form on file with Student Health Services prior to the start of classes. Forms may be downloaded from the RMU website. Failure to comply may result in restriction of use of campus Student Health Services and participation in some campus activities such as intramural sports.
Immunizations
The following immunizations are required:
- Two doses of Measles, Mumps, and Rubella Vaccine (MMR) for anyone born after 1957 or A blood titer indicating immunity.
- A booster dose of Tetanus Toxoid/Diphtheria (Td or Tdap) within the last 10 years
- A mantoux tuberculin skin test within the year or a chest x-ray (required for International students and students entering the Nursing Program)
- Varicella Vaccine (Chicken Pox) -2 doses- if no history of disease
- Hepatitis B Vaccine series -3 doses.
- International students are required to have proof of polio immunization.
- Meningitis (see Meningitis Information for complete details).
- Suggested Immunizations: HPV (females/males) - series of three, Hepatitis A - series of two.
Antigen Administration
Student Health Services will administer allergy injections and hymenoptera injections to students upon written orders from a private physician who provides the appropriate serum (see Antigen Administration Policy).
Physical Examinations
Student Health Services will not perform routine physical exams for the completion of a health form. Physical exams are provided at MedExpress (www.medexpress.com) or Walgreens Take Care Clinic (www.takecarehealth.com).

Medical Excuses
Student Health Services does not issue medical excuses covering class absences, missed examinations, etc. With the student's permission, the instructor may call the nurse for verification of the student's visit.
Health Insurance
Robert Morris University is committed to offering a student health insurance policy that balances the cost of the premium with quality health insurance coverage to meet the needs of our students. In order to achieve an affordable option, RMU is instituting a mandatory hard waiver policy for select groups of students. For complete details, see Student Health Insurance Policy
Accidents
All accidents must be reported to Student Health Services and a form completed within 48 hours of incident, see Accident Investigation Report.
