Our summer 3on3 league is where creativity comes alive and players thrive.  With more ice, more puck touches, and nonstop action, this fast-paced format builds confidence, hockey IQ, and compete level-all while keeping the game fun.  Smaller teams mean more shifts, more decisions, and more opportunities to make plays in tight spaces, and way more save opportunities for goalies!

Designed for skill development in a high-energy environment, our league emphasizes pace, teamwork, and smart play over systems and structure.  It is the perfect way to stay sharp in the offseason, make new friends, and fall in love with the game all over again.

LEAGUE DATES:
May 4, through July 19, 2026

NUMBER OF GAMES / SCHEDULE:
11 games guaranteed - 10 regular-season games plus all teams make the playoffs.

In general, games will be played:
Monday-Friday with start times between 6:00 PM & 9:00 PM
Saturday & Sunday with start times between 8:00 AM and 9:00 PM
** All 8U games will be played Saturday or Sunday, with start times 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

AGE LEVELS OFFERED:
We intend to offer 7 age brackets based on the 2026-2027 USA HOCKEY AGE CLASSIFICATIONS.

8U, Born 2018 and later
10U, Born 2016 and 2017
12U, Born 2014 and later
14U, Born 2012 and later
16U, Born 2010 and later
18U, Born 2008 and later
College/Junior/Adult, This division is reserved for players born 2007 & older.

USA HOCKEY MEMBERSHIP
All players (except for those in College/Junior/Adult Division) must be registered with USA Hockey for the 2025-2026 or 2026-2027 season.

GAME FORMAT:
(2) 21-minute halves 
One face-off to start each period
Line changes will take place every 60 seconds on the horn
Penalties result in automatic penalty shots
Celebrate your goal, but not for too long, as the other team fishes the puck out of their net and immediately sets out to get the goal back!

REGISTRATION FORMAT:
All levels will be Team Entry (except for the 8U Heros League)
Bring your 2025-26 season team, your 2026-27 season team, or build a team of friends and previous teammates from across various organizations!

TIERS:
Each age bracket will be divided into smaller tiers based on the overall number of teams in each specific division.  The goal when tiering teams is to create competitive balance throughout each tier.  Tiering will be discussed in depth and finalized at a virtual league meeting on April 13, 2026. Meeting links will be emailed to registered teams 48 hours before the meeting.  

ROSTER RULES
There will be a maximum of 20 players per team roster. A minimum of 11 skaters and a goalie is recommended. You'll need nine skaters to have enough "wind" to play this game! Players may only be rostered on one team per tier, but may be rostered on teams in different tiers. For example, a player may skate on one team in 14U Tier 1 and one team in 14U Tier 2, but may not play on two teams in 14U Tier 2.

- Players are NOT ALLOWED to skate down an age group. (12U cannot play 10U)

- 2018 & Later Birth Year players are NOT ALLOWED to skate up a division

- 2017 & Earlier Birth Year players may "play up" to an older division, (i.e. a child born in 2014 may play in the 14U division.)
 

THE HEROS LEAGUE:
The HEROS LEAGUE is reserved for players born 2018 or later who have previously passed out of The RMU Learn to Play Hockey program, Little Penguins program, or similar program through another facility but HAVE NOT yet played on a team. 

Registration for this division is only available by individual entry.  RMU Staff will use registration information to create equal teams at the beginning of the season. Players in this division will be provided a jersey and socks that are theirs to keep.

LEAGUE MEETING:
A league meeting will be held on Monday, April 13, 2026 at 7:00 PM. Registered teams will be provided a link to attend a virtual meeting.  All teams MUST have a representative attend the meeting in its entirety.  During the League Meeting, we will review rules and procedures along with in-depth discussions about tiers at each level.

TEAM ENTRY REGISTRATION FEES:  REGISTER HERE NOW!
$2450 - 10U Level and above.
$1950 -8U Level.

A $200 non-refundable deposit is required for all teams, with the balance due by Sunday, April 12, 2026.  The balance due will automatically be charged on Sunday, April 12, to the credit card you used to pay the deposit.

$235 per player, including a jersey and socks.

Registration is a first-come, first-served policy, and once the league is full, players will be directed to the waitlist. It fills up fast, so register as soon as possible!
